With the explosive era of social networking, there is increased
access to events for Christians.
It's unclear whether people are hosting more of these events or
whether the evolution of the social media have suddenly bring these
events to light...
Either way, there's a great deal of events out there- infact enough to
keep one well informed and spoilt for choice.
It's no doubt that many people are benefiting from the fact that they
can get the word out.
However, does the sudden influx of more events make a huge difference
to attendance or has it raised the question of credibility of event?
Is your event just a statistics? or is it, a well thought out
manifestation of a unique vision that will bring about change in the
lives of the attendees?
While others are happy to attend an event because of personal reasons,
you MUST plan strategically and professionally -with a purpose to
attract those that you don't know.
In summary, your event should be of relevance to stand out from the
crowd.
In fact, relevance is the single most important rule to even get
browsers attendance.
Here are a couple more secrets to win people over to your event. You
must avoid spam which comes across very unprofessional. Adopt a
strategy and refrain from making desperate attempts to attract
attention.
Do not overuse excess capital letters as this will imply that you are
fighting too hard to stand out. In fact, apply standard capitalisation
rules.
Do not address groups- instead address an individual. For instance,
instead of writing "hello group members" write "Hi" instead. This will
help you to add a more personal feel to your event!
Remember to utilise multiple platforms, people tend to trust you more
when they see you in multiple places.
Finally, use motivatinal or event related information to promote your
event. For instance if your event is on communication- strat giving
taster notes In advertising.
Give people a chance to know you and what you stand for.
Until next time- Happy promoting!
