CRE is the UKs&amp;#8217; largest event of its kind with hundreds of exhibitors and tens of thousands visitors each year. Since thelaunch of Yadah in December 2009 this year will be its second time to exhibit at CRE. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Yadah has become a useful online platform of choice for Christian promoters who wouldlike to spread the word about their event. Regardless of the size of theanticipated event there&amp;#8217;s a place on Yadah to raise local, national or even international awareness. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;People like Yadah because its different says Micah Mullings, the co-founder of the platform. 				<title>Yadah at the International Resources Exhibition 2010</title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;Yadah was one of the over 400 Christian resources and services exhibitors at the International Christian resources exhibition 2010, Sandsdown. The exhibition marks our launch and we felt as though we communicated our vision of bringing theologically sound Christian events/events for Christian into one place.&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We spoke to 1000s of people about Yadah and a great fraction agreed with our discovery that Christian events are the most hardest of events to locate. We knew then that we had to work extra hard to bring those events together and convince Christian leaders that Yadah is the way forward.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;It did not only provide a place to post events but one where those same events can be managed on a roundtheclock basis.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Leaders, Christian were overwhelmed and those who do not normally search may just start lloking for events that thay can attend. We handed out over 3000 flyers and encouraged church members to go back to their own church with the good news. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We also gave away thousands of pens, wristbands, landyards, magazines and the list goes on.. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many visitors came to see us for demonstration on how to utilise the site and we carried out tens of demonstration regarding our winning features and illustrated the fact that we have dominated keywords such as "&lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.ycen.co.uk"&gt;UK Christian events&lt;/a&gt;" and "Christian events" in both Google, Yahoo! and Bing. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many questions were asked and feedback that has been a learning curve for us as a team and we came back with all on board inorder to improve Yadah Christian events network.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Yadah is a tool for evangelising in a time such as this and we would like to invite you to spread the word with us as we spread the word about local &lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.ycen.co.uk"&gt;Christian events&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;a target="_blank" href="http://www.ycen.co.uk/apps/photos/album?albumid=9004597"&gt;Our Album can be viewed here&lt;/a&gt; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;#160;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

				<title>Oh NO! Not another Networking event! </title>

				<description>&lt;p&gt;These days, there are networking events every where you look! &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But, who  
are these events benefiting? The delegates or the host! I will let you decide.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;
Do people really know how to package and pitch their business at these  
events?

Personally,&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt; I believe that if people are to be successful at these  
events; there must be a strategy and possibly some training in place.

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But who's responsible, if anyone to ensure that some form of leverage  
is maintained?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;

&lt;font size="2"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Here are some things that I Hate about networking event.

&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;One person just keep chatting away with no due regard that the other person might need to  
say something about their own cause for attending &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The person to whom I'm speaking glancing all over the room in an attempt to spot potential  
customers- ultimate disrespect :/&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;A blatant attempt to be sold a business that I have no need for&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The host have clearly gathered an audience to sell their  
own business with no real regard or benefits for anyone else&amp;#160;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do not get caught out- make the most of networking events and ensure that you come away with something that will benefit your business. It is worth noting that people attend networking events for a variety of reasons such as:-&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;To raise brand profile&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;To socialise&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;To generate business&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;For job opportunities&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Competitor intelligence&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;For suppliers and so on&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;So it's worth finding out why people are there first before you assume that they would like to purchase your products and/or services!&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Here  
are a few pointers:-
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ol&gt;&lt;li&gt;
Make a note of your skills BUT &lt;b&gt;highlight the benefits of those skills&lt;/b&gt;  
along with the problems that you can relieve- don't start telling people about your degrees or qualifications! &lt;b&gt;People don't really buy features, they buy benefits!&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Structure your conversation in a sensible manner. You would not tell a  
stranger your deepest secrets so start casually, get to know people  
and for goodness sake- &lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;Be genuine about it! &lt;/b&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Building business relationships takes time and energy so avoid a quick  
fix mentality at networking events &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Be honest and realistic about what you would like to achieve and move  
accordingly! &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Be happy even if competitors are in the room! In fact use it as an opportunity to learn from them &lt;br/&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Maintain an open body language when necessary, and try to become approachable!&amp;#160;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ol&gt;&lt;p&gt;Finally, it might be worth it to get some training on communication and

the principles of communication and presentation?

&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3"&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3"&gt;Excellent communication skills are essential for winning business,  
retaining clients, for our career and ministry; in fact networking,  
pitching, presenting, persuading are key to most things that we do.

&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3"&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3"&gt;Not all of us, however, are born with these skills, and even those  
with a natural aptitude can improve and excel by consciously  
developing their practice.
